Clubbing and dancing are the pulsebeat of Liverpool nightlife and we have the pedigree to prove it!

In 1992 James Barton and some friends livened up the Liverpool clubbing scene when they started a weekly house music club night called Cream at the Liverpool nightclub Nation.  It exploded, and today Cream has become an international brand with its annual Creamfields dance festival held over the August Bank Holiday weekend in Halton, Cheshire, plus its own record label and Cream Ibiza club nights hitting the white isle every summer. There are still sell-out Cream events at Nation four times a year, including Easter and May Bank holiday.

Another top Liverpool clubbing venue is Garlands, in the heart of the gay and lesbian quarter of the city. This is a not-to-be-missed dance spot and you are guaranteed to have a fun taste of outrageous Liverpool nightlife there.

If 60’s is your bag then head to the Cavern Club on Mathew Street, one of the oldest Liverpool clubbing hotspots, for a bit of a groove, or check out Rubber Soul on Cavern Walks just round the corner.

If you want to mash it up a bit then go straight to top dance venue Heebee Jeebees. This has three floors of bars and dance floors (the main dance floor being in the basement). It heaves on a Saturday evening so get there in good time to avoid the queuing.

Another kicking Liverpool clubbing venue is Bumper, Liverpool’s coolest free club, which is located on Hardman Street in the student quarter. Dubbed the Unofficial Students Union, it has fab drinks offers and is a popular hangout for the thriving Liverpool music scene, with DJs from local bands doing regular sets.

But the Liverpool dance clubbing scene has something for everyone. For some alternative sounds check out the two-storeyed indie dreamland Le Bateau on Duke Street, which plays music by everyone from The Smiths to Kings of Leon, Echo and the Bunnymen and Ladyhawke.
