Which Good Food Guide 2010

Restaurants in Liverpool, Wirral and Southport have been recognised for their high standards of quality, extensive menu choice, decor and use of local produce. Amongst the nationally recognised restaurants are Fraiche with 'Best Wine List' in the UK and Da Piero in Irby, Wirral was 'Best Newcomer' described as offering diners "food that fills you with joy".

Other restaurants with honourable mentions include Blakes, The Side Door, Panoramic, Spire, 60 Hope Street and The London Carriage Works.

Paul Heathcote awarded MBE

Delifonseca wins the Taste Liverpool Award at The Mersey Partnership Annual Tourism Awards 2009

Heathcotes win top industry award

Heathcote's AwardHeathcotes in Liverpool took home the award for best use of technology at this year's prestigious Catey awards, held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Delifonseca also won the Food Northwest Award for Small and Medium Sized Businesses recently.

Candice Fonseca, proprietor, said: "It has been an exciting year for us and we are delighted to be recognised for our achievements by our industry peers, and are looking forward to a successful year ahead."

Heathcotes faced stiff competition from industry heavyweights Premier Inn and £1bn catering company, Compass. Paul Heathcote said: "Compared to the other nominees we are a small company so it was a real honour to be announced as the winner".

The award was presented to Heathcotes sales & marketing manager, Danny Taylor, by comedian Michael McIntyre in front of 1,200 of the who's who of the catering industry, including Gary Rhodes, Raymond Blanc and Brian Turner.

Liverpool - A great place to dine

The area continues to astound with new and ever evolving imaginative food offerings which highlight the fantastic Asparagusdiversity this city has to offer.

Liverpool's Paul Askew scooped the top prize at the recent Hi-Life Dining Awards held in Manchester. The chef patron of The London Carriage Works was voted Best Chef by the dining public, who are members of the Hi-Life ining club, which has 130,000 members.
