Mersey Coast & Country > Mersey Coast & Country Tours
With miles of footpaths, tracks and bridleways there are numerous options for walking on the North West Coast, cycling or horse riding.
The Sankey Valley Trail and Cheshire Lines Path provide great examples of former industrial land being converted for tourism, whilst the west to east coast National Cycle Route provides fantastic coast cycling (Trans-Pennine Trail) starts in Southport.
Why not try the Wirral Maritime Heritage Trail?
Few parts of the country can rival the opportunities that Merseyside presents to walkers and cyclists. If you're keen to enjoy the attractions walking on the North West coast, the choice ranges from modern and Victorian promenades to woodland walks, open heath and miles of firm, sandy, open beaches. A feature of the urban stretch of the estuary is the series of broad concrete promenades that offer unlimited river and seafront
access for both walkers and cyclists.
