The National Wildflower Centre offers an innovative visitor centre where visitors can learn about wildflowers in a family friendly place with nature at its heart.

It is a £4 mlllion Millennium Commission attraction to promote the creation of new places for wildflowers to develop and thrive, visitors can enjoy seasonal wildflower displays, view demonstration areas, admire the mix of old and award-winning new buildings, or simply relax in the cafe and gift shop.

Events and activities are held throughout the year.

Set in a Victorian park within 35 acres of parkland, the centre has easy access to the M62 and also is an attractive venue for meetings, conferences, workshops and events.

Our visitor centre demonstration areas are open from March 1st to September 1st each year, but our Cornflower Cafe is open all year round, 9am to 5pm on weekdays through the winter months.

Road Directions

NWC is situated in Knowsley's Court Hey Park, just off jct 5 of the M62 (follow the brown tourist signs). We are approximately 5 miles from Liverpool city centre and a short drive from Knowsley Safari Park.

Public Transport Directions

Broadgreen rail station is a short walk away and regular buses stop at the park gates outside the centre. We are also close to the Trans-Pennine Trail, part of the National Cycle Network route for cyclists and walkers.
