If you want to gain further information about making leisure, tourism or hospitality a first choice career contact Springboard UK- the national organisation offering advice and guidance on how to progress into the industry. You may also get involved with schools projects. They have a full range of careers support resources available. Further Education Colleges on Merseyside will be happy to discuss career routes and training along with suitable courses, they offer a variety of courses specifically designed for the leisure, tourism and travel industries.
You can study the leisure and tourism industry and gain industrial experience through the Liverpool Apprenticeship Scheme, organised by Liverpool 6th Form Consortium. Through this scheme you can work up to three days a week from age 15. On the right side of this page you will find a leaflet about Apprenticeships including some case studies of young people working in this industry.
