Shopping in Liverpool doesn’t just consist of Liverpool ONE, home to every big high street name. The city centre also has an ultra exclusive alternative retail offering called the Metquarter off Whitechapel, just a few minutes’ stroll away.

Liverpool’s Metquarter is a designer shopping centre that houses decidedly select outlets ranging from fashion to beauty. There is a Jo Malone store, where you can pick up gorgeous toiletries and scented candles, MAC, which is great for make-up, and Molton Brown, maker of fabulous girlie smellies.

As well as the top MAC-to-Molton Brown beauty offer, the Metquarter is also home to Kurt Geiger shoes, Hobbs clothes and fashion chain Flannels. It also houses Kate Kuba, a not-to-be-missed independent boutique that carries everything from Zandra Rhodes’ latest collection to Ugg boots.

But Liverpool retail is not just for the ladies -- there is something for the fellas too at the Metquarter, from Gieves & Hawkes’ smart gentlemen’s tailoring to Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger and shirts emporium T. M. Lewin.

In the middle of all this Liverpool shopping, grab a restorative cup of coffee at the Metquarter’s illy or Costa Coffee, or combine the shopping with a meal with your girlfriends at Café Rouge. Doing a bit of exclusive retail in Liverpool always works up an appetite!
