Unity holds a unique place in the cultural make up of the city, providing an eclectic mix of drama, dance, comedy, music and art.
Winning many awards, The Mersey Partnership Tourism Award for Best Venue, twice and The Scouseology Award, excellent track record in encouraging new writing and supporting new companies.
Our programme features a host of shows for children and young people, including Splatterfest, our annual festival of theatre for children, making unity a family friendly venue.
Unity is the most accessible venue in the city and has been in it’s current home, the former synagogue in Hope Place, for 26 years.
Attracting over 26,500 individual customers to over 260 performances each year. During the year unity costs over 40 local companies attracting a huge local audience. Unity patrons include Sir Bill Kenwright CBE, David Morrissey, Ian Hart and Josette Bushell-Mingo.

From the end of the M62 motorway follow the signs for the city centre and cathedrals, approx 3 miles. Turn left at the Metropolitan Cathedral and head past the Everyman Theatre and Philharmonic Hall, both on the left hand side along Hope Street. Hope Place is the first right turn off Hope Street after the Philharmonic Hall.
The nearest car park is ECP on Caledonia Street. There is also a car park on Hope Street/Myrtle Street plus on-street pay and display parking around Hope Place. Please note that Hope Place is residents only parking between 8am & 6pm.
Central Station and Lime Street train stations are a 15 minute walk away.
