Liverpool oozes culture and heritage. The city has a glorious past as a mercantile hub and gateway to the New World, but today it is also a key destination for art lovers, fans of the theatre and museumgoers.

Art is a huge theme for the city in 2010. Tate Liverpool will be staging a major Picasso exhibition in the summer, which will explore in depth the post-War period of the artist’s life.

2010 will also be the year of the 6th Liverpool Biennial International Festival of Contemporary Art, one of the largest and most exciting contemporary visual arts events in the world, taking place September to November.
