Throughout the year there are many major events, festivals and carnivals staged. From the Flowerpot Festival in Port Sunlight to one of the largest "FREE" shows in the country - the Wirral Show - there's literally something for everyone!

This year will see the return of Kites Over the Mersey, now in its 6th year, which attracted over 15,000 people to the Dips in New Brighton. The family event is always hugely successful, with kite flyers from across the country visiting.

August Bank Holiday weekend will also be a fun-packed time, with the Wirral Food and Drink Festival and the Annual Hoylake RNLI Open Day. The two-day Food Festival is being held at picturesque Claremont Farm in Clatterbridge. The event will promote the fantastic 'Home Grown' range of produce, restaurants, bars, farm shops and award-winning chefs. The Hoylake Open Day is a free event for all the family, with Red Arrows displays, stalls and a fairground.
