Liverpool Football Club
Mention the name 'Liverpool' to almost anyone, anywhere in the world, and their almost instant reaction will be 'football'. When Everton left Anfield in a dispute over rent in 1892, club chairman John Houlding stayed behind along with a handful of supporters and just three first-team players. But he was determined to see football continue at the ground. He formed a new club from scratch, chose the name Liverpool 
and the rest is footballing history.
At Anfield, Liverpool's home, visit the Liverpool Football Club Museum and Stadium Tour, proudly displaying the accumulated silverware of the most successful English football team ever. You can see the recently-claimed FA Cup and FA Youth Cup, plus the European Cup, on permanent display here after the team's historic fifth Champions League victory in 2005.
