  1. How do I get to Liverpool?

  2. What boroughs does Merseyside consist of?

    Merseyside consists of the boroughs of Liverpool, Knowsley, St Helens, Wirral, and Sefton (including Southport), together with neighbouring Halton.

  3. How do I book a room in Merseyside?

    Whether it be for one person, for one night or for 20 friends for a weekend, take the strain out of struggling to find a room on your own.   4. Where are the Tourist Information Centres (TIC's)?

    There are 3 TIC's in Liverpool, one based in Whitechapel, one in the Maritme Museum and more recently we have opened one at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

    There are also TIC's in the Merseyside districts of Southport, Wirral and St Helens. Check district websites for further information

  5. I am a Beatle fan, what can I do in Liverpool?

    Well you are certainly in the right city. Of course a trip to Mathew Street to see the Cavern is a must, as this is where it all began. There is an aptly named exclusive shopping centre called Cavern Walks which houses a bronze statue of the Beatles in their hey day.

    There is a magical mystery tour you can take from Queen Square TIC, which shows you all the famous haunts the Beatles took including Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. You can now go on a tour to visit 20 Forthlin Road, Paul McCartney's former home and Mendips, John Lennon's former home, now owned by the National Trust.

  6. What's on in the city, eg. What's happening in July?

    The Events section of the website contains information on the major events taking place in the city region.

  7. Where is the best nightlife?

    This depends on what sort of night you are looking for. You can have a relaxing evening in of one of our high class restaurants or if it's a wild night of dancing and bar hopping you are looking for, Mathew Street is a good place to start. What's known as the top end of town, Richmond Street, and Slater Street offer a huge choice of bars and clubs, and Concert Square is great for sitting outside on a hot night.   9. Where is Liverpool FC and Everton FC, can you do a stadium tour, where can you buy match tickets?

    Liverpool is home to two of the most famous names in Football, so if you're coming to the city why not try and take in a game. Liverpool is one of the few cities outside of London to have two Premiership clubs - Liverpool FC and Everton FC.

    Both stadiums are world class and can hold over 40,000+ each. They are within easy reach of the city centre.

  10. Is there anything to do for children?

    There is a lot to do for little ones; Liverpool is full of interesting museums. Children love water so a trip on the Mersey Ferry, stopping at Seacombe to take in the newly refurbished Aquarium and the Pirates Play Area is a must.

    The Walker Art Gallery and the Tate are ideal for school trips and budding artists. Most children will find an interest in the Magical Mystery Tour and the Beatle Story Museum.

    There is an open top Tour Bus, and the fairly new Liverpool Duck Marine, which is a bright yellow bus that tours the city and then plunges into the River Mersey to become a boat.

    Sefton Park and the beautifully restored Palm House offer quiet seclusion for a family picnic or day out.

    Every August the Mathew Street Festival boasts thousands of visitors, over the weekend, with children in their droves.

  11. How do I find Aintree Racecourse, the home of the Grand National

    Liverpool is home of the World's Greatest Steeplechase - The Grand National. The Three Day Grand National Festival takes place at the beginning of April. Aintree now includes a brand new visitor attraction, with a virtual reality ride of the famous race.

    500 million viewers world-wide tune in to watch The Grand National, the most famous steeplechase in the world. Over 300 horses, 1000 owners, 100 jockeys and 100,000 visitors gather for the three-day festival.

    The Race course is just outside the city of Liverpool, about 15 minutes by car.
