Home > HERITAGE OPEN DAYS - Church of St Luke
The origins of the church date back to 1180. During Edward 11’s reign, a magistrate’s court was established there. It was also the foundation for grammar school education in Widnes.
There will be church tours, a medieval fair and a pageant with re-enactment of a medieval court – complete with stocks!

Pageant to take place around lunchtime. Refreshments will be served in The Bridewell throughout the day.
Ring o’ Bells car park adjacent to the church. Parking permitted on roads leading to church.
Children are very welcome to take part in the church tours. There will be a pageant involving schools & youth groups.
Also nature activities in the churchyard with the Halton Watch Group.
