HERITAGE OPEN DAYS-Hale Duck Decoy

A scheduled ancient monument dating back to the 17th century which was used for attracting and catching ducks. This decoy is the only surviving example of its kind in the northwest and one of only four in the country.

The site is not open to the general public other than by pre-booked guided walks.
These start from Pickerings Pasture & last approx 3 hours & cover a distance of 2 miles over mixed terrain(stout, waterproof footwear recommended ) the walk is unsuitable for disabled, wheel or pushchairs.

Dates available are:
Saturday 13th September at 10am; Sunday 14th September at 10am; Wednesday 17th September at 2pm
As there is a maximum capacity of 20 visitors per walk (minimum age 12 years), pre booking is essential.
