Embracing the latest technology, the high-impact multimedia centre, which opened in 2005, features interactive displays, internet access, a video wall, a ticketing and booking office.

It is also a cultural focal point for the community as it plays host to exhibitions and presentations.

Situated at the heart of the city on Whitechapel, the 08 Place is close to some of the major developments taking place in the build-up to European Capital of Culture 2008 including the Met Quarter Retail Development and the £900m Paradise Street shopping scheme.
