Liverpool in a day explorers

If you're looking for a day out that offers great architecture, great history, and great value for money then look no further than Liverpool.

The Merseyside Maritime Museum tells the story of this magnificent seaport with fascinating exhibits that reveal Liverpool's role in the Battle of the Atlantic and other naval triumphs.

At the Albert Dock you can immerse yourself in the history of the city, quite literally on a tour aboard a Yellow Duckmarine. Or you can buy a ticket to ride to The Beatles Story and wind back the clock to the swinging sixties.

If you prefer to step back further in time then Speke Hall & Gardens, just a stone's throw from the city centre, is a fascinating and affordable day out. For National Trust supporters there is also Chambre Hardman's Photographic Studio or Mendips and Forthlin Road revealing John Lennon and Paul McCartney's childhood homes.

Don't forget many of our visitor attractions are free and are fully accessible to those with restricted mobility. And if you travel by public transport then the city is well connected by Merseyrail and off-peak travel is free to pass holders.
