4-Nations Junior Chess Championships

Young chess maestros are coming to Liverpool to take part in one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport.

The UK's national junior teams compete for the Glorney Cup (boys) and the Faber Cup (girls). These two trophies are the oldest in the world for junior players.

The two competitions are held annually bringing together some of the finest chess minds for three days of intensive and competitive matches.

It's a very special year for both tournaments because the Glorney Cup celebrates its 60th anniversary, and the Faber Cup its 40th, during ‘08
