Having gained promotion to EuroBasket Division A last summer, the British Basketball men's team now face top European opposition and their toughest test will come in Liverpool, when they take on Israel at the Echo Arena.

With NBA star Luol Deng leading the charge, and Everton Tigers head coach Tony Garbelotto assisting Chris Finch there will be all to play for as the squad continue to strive for London 2012 qualification.

Road Directions

From the North - take M6 to junction 26 and follow signs M58 Liverpool. Follow to end of M58 and follow signs for A59 Liverpool. Continue to follow A59 City Centre until picking up signs for the Albert Dock. This will take you right off the A59 onto the A5053 heading for the Albert Dock. Follow the Yellow AA Signs marked Echo Arena. The nearest car park to ACC Liverpool is on site: turn off at Queens Wharf where you will find a 1,600 space multi-storey car park. Alternative car parking is shown on the downloadable map located on the left hand side.


From the South - M6 to junction 21A, take M62 to Liverpool, follow signs for City Centre, until picking up signs for the Albert Dock. This will take you via the A59 onto the A5053 heading for the Albert Dock. Follow the Yellow AA Signs marked Echo Arena. Public Transport Directions

Due to ongoing works, the national rail network is subject to disruption throughout 2008. We strongly advise that all visitors to both the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena plan their journey in advance to allow for any potential delays. Up to date information can be found on the national rail network website.

From the South - Virgin Rail operate hourly direct services to Liverpool Lime Street (London to Liverpool approx. 2.5 hours).

From the North - Virgin Rail to Wigan North Western, Local train to Liverpool Lime Street.

ACC Liverpool is a 15 minute walk from Lime Street, a short taxi ride, you can take a Merseyrail train to James Street or catch the Route S1 bus directly to ACC Liverpool.

Planned Wirral Line Blockages in 2008:

From 10th February 2008 the main James Street entrance (and exit) will be closed and access to and from the station will be via the Water Street entrance. This temporary entrance/exit requires the use of a long slope. Patrons who wish to avoid this route are advised to use Central Train Station.

By Bus

The City Centre Circular Route S1 links Lime Street railway station with Queen Square Bus Station, the Albert Dock, ACC Liverpool and other central tourist attractions. Route S1 operates every 10 minutes every day.
