Belcea String Quartet

Rodewald Concert Series
Belcea String Quartet and London Winds
Tuesday, 15 June 2010 7.30pm
St George's Hall Concert Room
Brahms String Quartet No.2
Schubert Octet
If you’ve heard the Belcea Quartet’s Schubert performances in the Rodewald Series in recent years, you won’t need telling twice about this one – as they team up with London Winds for his glorious Octet. This is Schubert in holiday mood; probably the most fun eight musicians can have together! Brahms’ Second Quartet, meanwhile, is his most openly romantic, studded with secret messages to the violinist Joachim. The music of friends.
