Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse present the world première of new musical Eric’s by Liverpool writer, Mark Davies Markham. Joe’s in trouble. It’s not his time but the clock is ticking. You’ve got to be ready; ready to battle, ready to clash, ready to fight. From his hospital bed, the troops he rallies are from 20 years earlier in Mathew Street and the passion of his youth; the rebellious and creative fire of a small Liverpool club. A big reputation that burnt brightly as the black clouds of recession hovered above the Liver buildings. Mark Davies Markham is the writer of the hit musical Taboo and the BBC’s The Liverpool Nativity. This new musical specially commissioned for the European Capital of Culture tells the story of one man’s fight for survival as he draws on the spirit of Eric’s; do it yourself: and do it your way.
