Walker’s All Stars. This may be your last chance to see these incredibly talented stars perform on the same bill.
THE COMMODORES – are one of the biggest-selling groups of the 70s and had many of the decades best loved hits including ‘Three Times A Lady’ (No 1) (Motown’s biggest selling single ever!), ‘Sail On’ (No. 8), ‘Easy’ (No. 9), ‘Machine Gun’ (No. 20), ‘Wonderland’ (No. 40) and ‘Still’ (No 4) and in the eighties with ‘Nightshift’ (No 3) for which they won a Grammy for. They were discovered after supporting the Jackson Five and went onto sell over 60 million records for their Motown releases alone! In 2002 they were inducted into the US Hall Of Fame.
MARY WILSON OF THE SUPREMES – Mary Wilson was one third of the most successful female singing groups in recording history. With the songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, the Supremes became America’s most prolific hit makers and helped establish the distinct Motown sound that made the band one of the most influential and successful icons of the 60s & 70s. Their many hits include ‘Baby Love’ (No 1), ‘Where Did Our Love Go’ (No 3), ‘Stop! In The Name Of Love’ (No.7), ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’ (No 3), ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ (No. 8), ‘The Happening’ (No. 6), ‘Reflections’ (No. 5), ‘Stoned Love’ (No. 3) ‘I’m Going To Make You Love Me’ (No. 3) and ‘Nathan Jones’ (No 5). As testimony to the success of the Supremes they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and 1994 were honored with their star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. Mary accepted the honor on behalf of Diana and Flo. Wilson performed for President Clinton as part of the Millennium celebration at the White House and has two best selling books including her 1986 autobiography, ‘Dreamgirl... My Life As A Supreme’ and ‘Supreme Faith... Someday We'll Be Together’.
MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS - Motown’s ultimate soul diva who started as an assistant at the label that made her famous! With The Vandellas she had many hits that included ‘Nowhere To Run’ (No. 4), ‘Dancing In The Street’ (No. 4), ‘Heatwave’, ‘Third Finger Left Hand’ and ‘Jimmy Mac’. Martha also provided vocals on Marvin Gaye’s first three hits. Today, Martha maintains a dual career alongside the music. Most days will find her serving as a member of the City Council for her beloved Detroit, and speaking out as the city’s most vibrant and visible ambassador.
THE MIRACLES - were the first Motown group to break through giving the label its first gold record for selling a million copies. Their hits include ‘Tears Of A Clown’ (No. 1), ‘Love Machine’ (No. 3), ‘(Come ‘Round Here) I’m The One You Need’ (No. 13). ‘I Don’t Blame You At All’ (No. 11) and ‘Tracks Of My Tears’ (No. 9). Bobby Rogers’s alongside former frontman Smokey Robinson co wrote some of the most memorable Motown songs including "Going To a Go-Go" (Miracles) & "The Way You Do The Things You Do" (Temptations).
