Pacifica String Quartet

Rodewald Concert Series
Pacifica String Quartet
Saturday, 20 March 2010 7.30pm
St George's Hall Concert Room
Haydn String Quartet in F major, Op.77 No.2
Prokofiev String Quartet No.2, Op. 92
Beethoven String Quartet in A minor, Op.132
Best-known for their breathtaking interpretations of contemporary music, the Pacifica Quartet have never fought shy of the great classics – and their interpretation of Beethoven’s transcendent Quartet Op.132 has been astonishing critics in the USA. With Prokofiev’s String Quartet No. 2, and Haydn’s magnificent final word, this adds up to a must-hear programme from one of the most exciting string quartets in the world today.

‘There’s no point in predicting future greatness for the young Pacifica Quartet. That future is already here.’
