Parish Church of St Mary

The Parish of St Mary, Walton is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, but there is evidence of a church on the site pre - dating this. The church is open for the public from 10.30am - 4pm on Saturday 13 September (followed by a choral Evensong at 4pm) and 11.30am - 3pm on Sunday 14th September. There are samples of the old records of the church on display and an exhibition of photographs from different eras. The entrance to the church is free but there will be a small charge to visit the tower.
There will be a talk given at 3pm by the Rector about John Holt, school master of the old grammer school who also went on to establish the girls' academy in Walton.
