Between 30th Sept and 2nd Oct young people from across Merseyside will join together to create a multi-media live art extravaganza at St George’s Hall where the world of 'Tales' unfolds.
Students from over twenty different education partners across the boroughs of Liverpool, Knowsley, Wirral, Sefton, Halton and St Helens have been taking part in workshops, creating visual art and performances that have been showcased in festivals around Merseyside. Now all unite as St. George’s Hall throws open it’s doors to beckon you into the magical world of ‘Tales’.
Young people have been working in partnership with artists, dramatists, lantern makers, choreographers, writers and animators to create all aspects of their performance, including props, masks, puppets and the digital media set. This finale event will combine dance, drama, film and song, to bring to life the cells, corridors, courtroom and concert hall with installations and performances inspired by each borough’s chosen tale.
Focussing on Tales from different parts of Europe and linked through a computer generated ‘game world’ animated by the young people, gamers and audience will visit kings and gods, trolls and vampires, wreckers, banshees and dragons on a quest to fill the ‘Book of Tales’ with stories that will keep the past alive.
