With the strings of the RLPO
The Liverpool-based soul-influenced pop band, like so much that was good about the 80s, are now getting the credit they deserve in 2008. With their perfect soul harmonies and classic songwriting they have had No. 1s and numerous UK hits between 1987 to 1993.
This generous band who recorded a number one hit in aid of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster and whose single Harvest for The World raised millions for charity, are giving again. This time they reunite an amazing partnership with the RLPO first formed on stage at Pier Head at the opening of the last great Mathew Street Festival in 2006.
This one-off concert for Liverpool in the Capital of Culture year, featuring their hits and new music from their forthcoming album accompanied by the strings of the RLPO, is the band's ambitious and brilliant way of saying thank you and celebrating their music with the people of their hometown.

If you are coming to Liverpool on the M62, finding the Philharmonic Hall is straightforward. Continue along the motorway until its end and then follow the signs for the city centre, cathedrals and universities (about 3 miles). Turn left at the Metropolitan Cathedral and head past the Everyman Theatre along Hope Street.
If lost, use this maxim: find one cathedral, head for the other. The Phil is halfway between the two.
Philharmonic Hall is situated on Hope Street, approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre. The main entrance is situated on Hope Street at the junction where Hardman Street meets Hope Street opposite the Philharmonic Public House. It is close to Central Station, Lime Street Station, Myrtle Street bus stops and several car parks.
