The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival is our city's annual theatre event performed inside the majestic Liverpool Cathedral and in the bewitching St James' Gardens which lie adjacent to it.
In Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture, the festival will take place from 31st July to 6th September, featuring both 'The Winter's Tale' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' presented by Shakespeare's Globe (London) and Lodestar Theatre Company (Liverpool).
The theatrical performances will be accompanied by a range of events, including open air cinema, al fresco bar and music. The audience is invited to arrive early, bring a picnic or enjoy snacks and drinks offered on site.
Tickets will be available online at www.TheLiverpoolShakespeareFestival.co.uk, on 0151 / 324 0237 and at several designated outlets across the city from 15th March.
Discounts for early bookings and concessionary rates will be available, and this summer will also see a few specials such as sneak previews, matinees and midnight shows.
Lodestar Theatre Company is a young arts organisation that recruits only local artists and practitioners to create spellbinding, site-specific theatre which has a love of language and a passion for storytelling at its heart.
