About

Find Mattel Play! at Livepool's favourite attraction, the Albert Dock.

Based on the popular TV characters that children know and love - Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam - inspire your child’s imagination with over 13,000 square feet of interactive adventure play across three uniquely themed zones.

Once inside you don’t sit and watch, but instead it is your child’s creativity, physicality and natural curiosity that brings their favourite characters and stories to life.

Begin your adventure with Thomas and Rosie as you explore the Island of Sodor from Knapford Station to Tidmouth Sheds and Farmer McColl’s farm. Grab your tool belt and hard hat and lose yourself in the adventures of Bob and Wendy as they construct projects using a foundation of determination and teamwork. Be transported to the Welsh village of Pontypandy where you can climb aboard Jupiter, explore the Ocean Rescue Centre and put fires out at sea, just like our heroes next door Fireman Sam and Penny!

With free entry to the on-site café and retail area, as well as two themed party areas for your special celebrations and an interactive green screen experience, Mattel Play! is one of the most unique family attractions in Liverpool.

Public Transport Directions

On foot:

Albert Dock is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street, Liverpool’s mainline station, through Liverpool ONE. You can also reach us on foot from either the Museum of Liverpool and Cruise Liner terminal, or ACC Liverpool.

By train:

If you don’t fancy the 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street, our mainline station, you can transfer to Merseyrail at Lime Street, which takes you to James Street Station, just a five minute walk from the Albert Dock.

By bus:

The C4, C5 and City Link services stop at Albert Dock; the Liverpool ONE bus station is just opposite us too, where services in and out of the city centre start and finish.

By coach:

The Albert Dock has designated coach short-stay pick-up/drop-off points located at the stops on Salthouse Quay, near Albert Gate (close to the Pump House public house), and at Gower Street.

For longer stays, the nearest coach park is a 24-hour pay and display coach parking area located at the nearby King's Waterfront, adjacent to the Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) Liverpool.

Note for drivers: Albert Dock estate has a one way system in place for coaches, which should enter the estate via Albert Gate (opposite the Hilton Hotel). Gower Street Gate is for coach exit only (not entry).
