Liverpudlians enjoy a drink, from a cool cocktail to a hearty real ale. Their sense of fun and love of a great night out guarantee that the bars in Liverpool are lively and the nightlife is legendary. It’s no wonder that Liverpool has been voted Britain’s Best Nightlife Destination by TripAdvisor users.

Liverpool’s nightlife isn’t all about restaurants and a bars however, as there’s literally loads to entertain you in the evenings.

There’s a number of evening tours available across the city from spook-tactular Shiverpool ghost tours to ale trails. Alternatively take in a show or concert at one of the city’s many top performances spaces. The Echo Arena’s programme of headline acts and international artists is a popular choice while lovers of classical music must not miss the outstanding Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra who regularly performs at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in the Hope Street Quarter. This area also has a good selection of restaurants and bistros offering pre-theatre menus.

Comedy, too, is a key part of the Liverpool nightlife scene. Numerous comedy clubs have sprung up across the city, where you can enjoy a beer or two while having a good old laugh. Check out Comedy Central at Baby Blue in the Albert Dock, one of Liverpool’s premier comedy clubs.

Then there’s dancing. The Liverpool clubbing scene took off with Cream in the nineties and has been throbbing ever since. Make sure you catch Cream at Nation if you can, or check out Garlands, a flamboyant, not-to-be-missed Liverpool nightlife experience.
