About

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra gives more than 60 concerts a year, with world-class artists, at its home, Philharmonic Hall and plays far and wide in venues and concert halls across the UK and abroad.

On 14 September 2006 Vasily Petrenko took up the baton as Principal Conductor of the RLPO. At 29 years old, Petrenko was the youngest person and the first Russian in the 165-year history of the Philharmonic to have been given this appointment.
