The Beatles Story
Nestled amongst the Albert Dock’s historic Grade I listed buildings, the award-winning Beatles Story is worth a visit for anyone interested in finding out more about the Fab Four. The Beatles Story is the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to the lives and times of the group. In 2015 the Beatles Story was named “the Best Attraction in the North and Scotland” in the annual Worldwide Attraction Awards 2015.
Put on your headsets (available in multiple languages) and delve into the journey of the Fab Four as you’re guided around the museum, from their roots here in Liverpool, to Abbey Road Studios in London to their worldwide success. Immerse yourself in the recreations of key location points in their career such as The Cavern and The Casbah Club.
To celebrate what would have been John Lennon’s 75th birthday, The Beatles Story currently features a photographic exhibition; John Lennon: The New York Years 1971 – 1980. The exhibition highlights the years he spent with Yoko in New York and the solo material he wrote in that time.
The Beatles Story continues just a short walk away over the bridge and past the Museum of Liverpool at the Pier Head, inside the unique Mersey Ferries Building. Here visitors can explore dedicated exhibitions including ‘The Hidden Gallery’ and the ‘Fab 4D’, a cinematic experience to be enjoyed by both fans and non-fans of The Beatles. On the way over to the Mersey Ferries Building look out for a sculpture of the Fab Four outside the Three Graces.
