If you fancy stepping out of the hustle and bustle of the city, we’ve got the places to go. A stroll through Liverpool’s green gems is the perfect way to spend a sunny day - see some of our favourites below...

Sefton Park LiverpoolSefton Park

You’ll find this magnificent 235 acre park in leafy South Liverpool.  Even the prestigious Green Flag Award doesn’t quite do it justice.  The stunning Palm House, spectacular boating lake and handsome bandstand (some say the inspiration for The Beatles’ Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band) are not to be missed. And you can wind down, while the kids enjoy the children’s playground.

Calderstones Park LiverpoolCalderstones Park

Calderstones is a 94 acre family park with beautiful ornamental gardens (the Japanese garden is one of our fave places in the city) and woodlands. The wonderful Mansion House and lovely café make it the perfect escape if you’re feeling frazzled from a day of city centre sightseeing. Buzzing with cyclists, skateboarders and joggers.

Set in 500 acres, this country park is a playground for nature and history lovers, and one of Liverpool’s most important heritage sites. Step back in time and enjoy the historic hall, cute city farm, Victorian walled garden – should be on every tourist’s radar. Definitely one for your itinerary.

Stanley Park LiverpoolStanley Park

Opened in 1870 and situated in the north of the city, this classic Victorian park is just a stone’s throw from the city’s football stadiums. Home to the splendid Isla Gladstone Conservatory, restored to its former glory and now a stylish and sun-flooded venue for weddings and big events. Grab lunch in the dinky café before a visit to our footballing meccas.
