Set to melt any Scrooge’s heart; the first stop on your magical Christmas trip is to the eagerly-awaited, one of a kind, DreamWorks Lights lantern extravaganza, held at St Georges Hall. Just across the road from Lime Street station, not only will the grade I listed neo-classical building take all of your breaths away, wait until you see what its inside has in store…

Over 100 giant and spectacular lantern figures from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar will illuminate the hall in over 25 scenes that you’ll certainly all know and love. With the event being the only one of its kind in the UK, it’s something that you just can’t afford to miss for your 2016 Christmas memory bank.  Gaze around in wonder and say hello to your favourite animations! 11:30pm – The Snowflake Trail

Though we can’t always promise real snowflakes in Liverpool, we’re sure that these ones will make you feel just as Christmassy!

As you make your way towards the city centre, you’ll experience your very own winter festival; complete with dazzling lights, swirling sounds and interactive sculptural snowflakes that will guide you through stunning city locations amongst its most iconic landmarks. The snowflakes have been decorated by twelve of the UK’s most talented and exciting visual artists…with designs ranging from exotic animals to Christmas puddings.

We won’t give too much away but expect 12 giant snowflakes, 6 ‘tweetable’ snowflakes at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), interactive illustrations, one huge illumaphonium (3 and a half metre tall unique musical instrument!), a beautiful Christmas tree, a giant storybook and magical sound and light on Lord Street, Queen Square and Williamson Square.
