Liverpool is famous for several things; one thing its particularly popular for is its massive commitment to looking good. Our people aren’t afraid to don something new, try out the latest trends, rework some old ones and absolutely work it in the process.

Whether it’s the latest Balenciaga trainers, the Sophia Webster winged beautys that took the fashion world by storm, or a pair of ole battered up Dr Martins – There’s a place for them all in this city. Perfectly quaffed hair, curly blows, amazing nails, false eyelashes, preened – and not so preened – beards; Liverpool is filled with unique people with their own style.

Now we’re putting our own stamp on an event that’s resided in Birmingham for 27 years. Yes, that’s right we’re putting a big fat Liverpool stamp on The Clothes Show. The Clothes Show is changing and it’s heading to the North West. British Style Collective presented by the Clothes Show in Association with Alcatel is a city-wide takeover taking place this July.

From 7-9 July, 5 city venues will don their best accessories and open their doors to the fashion world. We’ll tell you more about these special venues a bit later on.

Anyway, on to why Liverpool is the perfect place for the show.

We have the people

Over the last few months, we’ve hit the streets to cherry pick just some perfect examples of style in the city and made a little video below about what they’ve got to say.

Everything from overshirts from Sainburys, to all nighters all for a pair of trainers. Who influences their style and where they got all that fancy clobber. They've even had their say about what British Style Collective venues they love - so keep a look out, you might agree!

We Have the Venues

When the Clothes Show was in Birmingham, the whole show was focused in one venue. Oh no, we’re switching it up. The British Style Collective is heading to some of Liverpool’s most cherished venues by locals and visitors alike.

What’s better than one arena? 4 more venues on top of it!

Echo Arena is a venue of British Style Collective

Venue number 1

Fashion-Meets-Music Spectacular. The ECHO Arena. ACC Liverpool.

The Alcatel Fashion Arena will explode inside the 8,000 capacity space of ECHO Arena - that's been lucky enough to host famous faces such as One Direction, Katy Perry, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars and loads more. This year, they’re about to take you on an explosive journey, packed with fashion, dance, the latest trends and a catwalk – with up and coming huge live acts thrown in for good measure.

The whole performance will showcase two performances per day over the weekend, where models and dancers will be welcomed on stage to bring you the hottest looks on the high street this summer. It’s a fashion-meets-music spectacular where you can sit back, relax, or get up and boogie (no one can blame you).

So why is it the perfect style spot?

We’ve already mentioned the Echo Arena is a hotbed for huge star-studded music acts, but it’s also been the home of SPECTACULAR events like the MOBO Awards, the MTV Europe Music Awards. It’s purpose-built to put on unforgettable shows for the country to enjoy and it’s never disappointed. With its perfect waterfront location, proximity to transport links and walking distance to the best restaurants, shops and nightlife in the city, you’ll want to shout about it.

Who can I see there?

Vogue Williams, Kimberley Walsh and Mollie King are of course your leading ladies, joined by musical guests Stealth, Analiza Ching and Alex Todd.

Venue number 2

The Shopping Halls. Exhibition Centre. ACC Liverpool

Can we move in?

So why is it the perfect style spot?

Set against dramatic views of the River Mersey, this Exhibition Centre opened its doors in 2008 and has become the place where worlwide events and exhibitions have chosen to call home. By 2011, it had welcomed almost 2 million visitors in over 500 events and has demontrstaed its prowess in putting Liverpool on the event map. We're super proud to have it as part of our epic waterfront, and we can't wait for you to see why.

Camp and Furnace will host interactive workshops and seminars

Venue Number 3

Creative Hub. Baltic Triangle. Camp and Furnace & Constellations

Always the hotspot for the coolest local crowds of Liverpool but, on Friday 7th July, the Baltic Triangle will transform into the creative epicentre for the most innovative and superbly-styled fashion students from all over the country.

Yep, the super-cool Constellations and Camp and Furnace will house innovative educational pop-up experiences - think creative talks, interactive workshops and seminars with top industry insiders and awards – even, featuring a working catwalk to reveal ‘behind the scenes’ action set to inspire the next generation of creatives. Cool, eh?

So why is it the perfect style spot?

Self-proclaimed restaurant, bar, fan park, conference venue and cultural hangout – Camp and Furnace is the epitome of a fresh and funky atmosphere that draws in the most creative people in Liverpool. It’s the place where Scousers go to share momentus occasions with each other – thanks to their huge warehouse, stage, and big projector screen and it’s always first on the scene when it comes to quirky and never-before-seen events like the infamous Bongo’s Bingo.

Then you’ve got Constellations; the award-winning, independently minded event space where city dwellers can come and enjoy the region’s rich arts and music scene. Once a disused recycling yard, Constellations have risen from the ashes and is now ready to pave the way for the British Style Collective’s creative elite.

To be frank, we wouldn’t expect the British Style Collective to host their Creative Hub anywhere else…

Whether you’ve seen it in the flesh or not, the fifth largest cathedral in the world makes no secret of being one of the most breath-taking buildings in the country. At Liverpool Cathedral, everything is done BIG.

It’s not a run of the mill religious space that sticks to the Sunday morning service – Liverpool Cathedral is now at the heart of Liverpool life and experiences, no matter what your beliefs. The best part about it? You can visit and marvel at its splendour whenever you like - not just at an exclusive event.

If British Style Collective were looking for a breath-taking venue to take your breath away, we think they’ve struck the jackpot here.
