Gin first became popular in Britain in the 1600’s, at this time Liverpool was one of the world’s largest ports for trade. Become a Gin-xpert at H1780 on their distillery tour in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle. The Ginsmiths Experience offers an entertaining tour with up-close views of the production facility and distilling methods, finishing off with a tutored Gin tasting and complimentary Gin and Tonic!

Other notable gin bars across the city include Jenever who pride themselves on being a beautiful contemporary bar with over 120 different types of gin. Jenever is situated on Hope Street, so it’s the perfect place for a pre-theatre drink.

Blink and you might just miss The Underground Gin Society, it’s perfectly nestled on Castle Street opposite San Carlo. Step down into their world of gin, with a million different garnishes and flavours to try, you could be coming here for a lifetime and still find new, delicious concoctions.
