Sound City 2018

Sound City is back in Liverpool for its 12th edition across 3rd – 5th May and artist Gwenno is calling out to the region’s most exciting emerging talent to join her in a 5-day creative residency, culminating with a show at the festival itself.

The festival will once again, be taking over the iconic warehouses, intimate spaces, outdoor stages and pop-up places which form the renascent Baltic Triangle and Cains Brewery areas of the city.

Gwenno is performing at the festival with a special one-off performance of brand-new works with her producer, Rhys Edwards, and some of the region’s most exciting emerging female talent. Gwenno is calling out to the region’s most exciting emerging talent to join her in a 5-day creative residency, culminating with a show at the festival itself.

Gwenno’s project encourages the exploration of concepts inspired by a sense of place and people, drawing from Liverpool’s rich and varied communities.

The five day residency and show are part of an ongoing partnership with Both Sides Now, a pioneering initiative from music charity Brighter Sound to support women in music across the North.

This is the same partnership that brought us last year’s pioneering collaboration with Stealing Sheep, continuing Sound City’s position as the UK’s leading independent festival for new and emerging talent, which culminates over 3rd – 5th May in Liverpool.

The deadline to apply is Sunday 31st March. Head here to www.brightersound.com/gwenno-in-liverpool/ to apply.
