We’re a nation of dog lovers here in the UK and there’s nothing more upsetting than having to leave your furry friend at home when you’re off for a day out or a weekend break. Fortunately in Liverpool we understand that you want to be able to bring the whole family along, pet pooch included and have plenty of places to go that will be more than welcoming to your dog.

To help you plan your dog friendly trip to Liverpool, we have put together a list of some of the best places to eat, drink and run around to make sure everyone has the best day ever. 

Don't forget, you can also take your dogs on the Merseyrail Loop line if you need to get the train around the city!


Bars and Restaurants


BREWDOG LIVERPOOL

The Liverpool branch of Brewdog will welcome your canine friend with open arms and is one of the best spots in town for a bit of doggo spotting. Not only are there dogs a plenty but their food and drink menus make it well worth stopping off at. They also host doggy birthday parties too, how amazing is that??


THE DEAD CRAFTY BEER COMPANY

Dale Street’s Dead Crafty Beer Company lets you and your dog enjoy a beer together after a long hard day exploring the city. With over twenty rotating taps of craft beers and ales you’ll be spoilt for choice; best make your pet friend’s a water though. 


SALT DOG SLIMS

For American style hot dogs, world beers, bespoke cocktails and a super cool place to hang out with your dog; head over to Salt Dog Slims on Seel Street for a lunch time snack.  


THE BALTIC MARKET

The Baltic Market is one of the trendiest places to eat and drink in town and it’s made even better by the fact that it’s dog friendly. Take the whole clan down to this independent food market and whilst the humans decide what amazing food to try next, the dogs can make a whole load of new pet friends.

LOVE LANE BREWERY

Love Lane Brewery in the Baltic Triangle brews one of Liverpool’s most loved craft beers in a stunning building. It’s a really cool place to head down for one of their famous beers with your pet, they can even have a drink out of their own Love Lane bowl!


KAZIMIER GARDEN

This won't be like any other garden you and your dog have been in. Find the entrance nestled into Seel Street and enter into one of the coolest bars around. It’s a sun trap in the summer and a cosy space in the winter with roaring fires - what more could you ask for?


CAFE TABAC

Cafe Tabac on Bold Street is a Liverpool institution and famous for serving their amazing breakfasts all day long. You and your canine friend will love this little spot that will fill you up for a day exploring the city.


MOOSE COFFEE

There is no better place to stop off for breakfast than Moose Coffee on Dale Street and Hope Street. Enjoy a stack of fluffy American Pancakes with a glass of orange juice and you’ll all be ready for your walk around Liverpool. 


LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR

Hatton Garden’s Love Thy Neighbour welcome all your pet pooches to join you for lunch. Their menu is super healthy and will make for a great break after your walk round the city.  


CRAZY PEDRO’S

Head up to Crazy Pedro’s terrace on a hot summer’s day and enjoy a slice of their mad pizzas on the sun trap with your dog. They do everything from chicken and waffle to Big Mac pizza toppings and crazy cocktails that will keep you cool all day long.

FOLK

Folk on Tithebarn Street is one of the coolest gathering spaces/bar/kitchen/coffee shop and everything else in between you’ll find around. To make it even better, they are dog friendly! Head in for a drink or lunch to rest your legs after all the walking. 


LOVE LOCKS COFFEE

Old Haymarket street is home to Love Locks Coffee shop and welcomes everyone, including pooches, in for coffee and cakes on a pitstop around the city.

THE BAGELRY

The Bagelry is the place to go for the best bagels in town with your pet pooch. Not only do they do veggie and vegan bagels but they also do rainbow ones too! We bet you never knew you needed a rainbow bagel in your life until now!


DOWN THE HATCH

Find Down the Hatch in a basement on Duke Street and head underground for the best vegan junk food you’ll ever come across. Your dogs will definitely want in on this one. 


THE CALEDONIA

The Caledonia is everyone’s favourite dog friendly pub in Liverpool. Not only do they let your pet pooches in for a drink with you, their menu is also entirely vegan meaning it’s the perfect spot for all the animal lovers out there.


THOUGHTFULLY CAFE

If you fancy a quiet cup of coffee after strolling round the city with your dog, head over to Thoughtfully Cafe at Cleveland Square, right next to Liverpool One. They also do amazing food and stock loads of really cool magazines so it’s a great place for everyone to chill out. 


BRASCO LOUNGE

For lunch with a view of Liverpool’s stunning waterfront, head over to Brasco Lounge on Mann Island where they will be more than accommodating of you and your pet friend. 


THE BALTIC FLEET

The Baltic Fleet’s beer garden is a sun trap in the summer and super cosy by the fire place in the winter so it’s a brilliant place for everyone to stop off for a pint. The pub has been built to look like a ship and they serve a range of local craft beers too. 


TUSK

Whilst you’re out around The Baltic Triangle head into TUSK for a cocktail, craft beer and loads of great food. They are super dog friendly too and even throw dog parties!


SUGAR & DICE

If you and your dog are into board games then why not head over to Sugar & Dice for an afternoon of fun. You can play the classic Monopoly and fight over who gets to be the dog counter or ask their friendly staff for some new recommendations. (Top Tip: you might want to take another human with you too)


CONSTELLATIONS

Constellations is another great outdoor space in the Baltic Triangle and a really relaxing place to chill out in the sun with a drink. There’s always something going on there too; live music, parties, BBQs and roast dinners - you and your dog will definitely be back for more. 


THE MERCHANT

The Merchant on Slater Street is one of the best places in the city to head for a gin and tonic and a slice of pizza and your dog is welcome in too! There is also an outdoor garden for you to soak up the sun during those lovely summer months. 


THE BUYERS CLUB

Wine bar, cocktail parlour, small plates restaurant and gig space; Buyers Club has it all. Nestled into the back of Hardman Street, the venue has everything you need for an afternoon out with your pet pals.


BOTANICAL GIN GARDEN 

In the Summer months there is no better place to take the whole clan to than the Botanical Gin Garden. Hidden in the middle of The Baltic Triangle, the gin paradise does all your favourite g&ts with amazing food in a beautiful setting. 


DUKE STREET FOOD AND DRINK MARKET

Duke Street Food and Drink Market welcomes the whole clan into their huge food hall. With food stalls serving quality street food, Pilgrim, a 50 seat restaurant on the balcony, and bowls for your pet friend, everyone will enjoy eating out here for lunch. 


DOCKSIDE DINING CLUB

Mann Island’s Dockside Dining Club will welcome you and your pet pooch with open arms. With plenty of street food stalls serving some delicious snacks and a fully stocked bar, you’ll all have a great time chilling in the sun on the waterfront. 


ALBERT'S SCHENKE

You’ll be pleased to know that the bar area at Albert's Schenke is dog friendly! Albert only asks that your furry friend is small enough to sit on your lap whilst everyone enjoys their visit to the German inspired bier haus.


Let’s go for a walk


SEFTON PARK

The 200-acre park on the edge of the city centre is the perfect place to head for a long walk and a good run around. Amongst the trees, boating lake and cafe there is also the stunning Palm House; see if you can find it!


THE ROYAL ALBERT DOCK

The Royal Albert Dock is the perfect place to stroll around whilst taking in the sights and stopping for a cup of coffee. If you and your dog are up for an adventure you can also do a bit of stand up paddleboarding! Grab a board and life jacket and have a bit of one on one time enjoying all the views from the water. 


CALDERSTONES PARK

Calderstones Park isn't just any other park; it is home to ancient megaliths that are said to be older than Stonehenge! The park also has a lake, cafe, child friendly play area and lots of space for your dog to have a run about. 


LIVERPOOL PIER HEAD

Home to the Three Graces and the Museum of Liverpool; the waterfront is a beautiful place to go for a stroll to take in the views over the River Mersey and see the world famous Liver Building. There is also the larger than life statue of The Beatles here too, making it the perfect time to grab a selfie! 


EVERTON BROW

For a park with the best views over Liverpool head to Everton Brow for a sunset over the city like you've never seen before. Your dog will love it too!


CROSBY BEACH

Jump the train 15 minutes down the road to Crosby Beach for a run around in the sand, who doesn't love the beach? Whilst you are there you can check out Antony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ too which consists of 100 cast-iron life size versions of the artist, it’s definitely a sight to see!
