The 31st May to 2nd June is going to be a huge weekend in Liverpool so we wanted to give you all the details for what is going on so you don't miss out. There’s no other place you should be than right here!

From maritime festivals, wine festivals, Champions League Final football and potential parades; we told you it's all going on. 


Celebrating Castle Street returns this Friday from 12-7pm bringing a day long celebration of the popular foodie hub in the Commercial District. The street’s finest restaurants will takeover the road and venture out onto the pavements to showcase their menus with some great food.  


The Northwest’s biggest arts and crafts market is returning to the stunning Liverpool Cathedral on Saturday 1st of June. The Summer Arts Market will see over 200 of the region's best artists, designers and makers sell their handmade work and original designs to the public. 


River Festival Liverpool will be taking over the city’s UNESCO Heritage Waterfront this weekend for a celebration of all things maritime. Covering Pier Head, Royal Albert Dock, Salthouse Dock, The Strand and Mann Island, a whole raft of free family friendly events and activities will be washing up on our Mersey shores. 

Here are some things to expect from the weekend: 


The Royal Albert Dock will be packed full of vessels in all shapes and sizes for you to check out. From the Northern Boat Show, Pelican of London, Adventure Wales, the Royal Yacht Association, Volharding and loads more - you’ll be in boat heaven. 


There are loads of art installations popping up along the waterfront this weekend and you’ll be able to catch them all on both Saturday and Sunday!

Whale Song Projection Show

Combining water, sound and light, audiences will see the image of a humpback whale emerge 15 meters out of the water and plunge back in as part of this incredible 6 minute show. Find the show being repeated from around 9:45-11:00pm from 29th May to 2nd June. 

Sea Urchins

The Urchins are hand-crocheted works of art created by award winning architect, Jin choi and float majestically on the water measuring over three meters high!

Two Cats and a Canary

The Birdcage Stage returns to the River Festival for the second year with an hilarious slapstick street theatre show. Inspired by cartoon nostalgia follow the antics of the canary as she inhabits a beautiful golden birdcage. 


Last year we had the Moon and this year we have the Earth! Hanging majestically in the Liverpool Cathedral, Gaia (meaning the personification of the Earth), features accurate and detailed NASA imagery of the Earth and is a sight to see. 

HMS Suarez

House of Suarez returns to the docks of Liverpool to premier their new show. This piece will take you on a journey through the decades of music during the time the docks were thriving as generations of sailors came across the seas. 

Also keep your eyes peeled for The Runner by Faith Bebbington, Swyron, Man on the Moon, Yolart and the African Eagles. 


We can't have a festival without some music and there is plenty happening to soundtrack your weekend. 

Kazimier Barge

Dropping their anchor on the Pier Head, the Kazimier crew will be all hands on deck providing music on their special Kazimier Barge. 

Splintered Ukes

Splintered Ukes are a uke based band that skillful remaster classic and modern pop songs with their special twist. Catch them at Pier Head at 10:30am on Saturday and at Mann Island at 9am on Sunday. 

Steel Drums

The Steel Drums bands have performed in 5 different countries around the world and this weekend they are bringing their music to Liverpool. Lead by Francis, they manage to produce the sweetest sounds on the steel drums performing everything from traditional Caribbean, chart pop, Disney and house music.  

Keep an ear out for The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, Popvox Choir, New Orleans Jazz - The Dixie Street Band, Disco Inferno and Downtown Underground too!


The Bordeaux Wine Festival Liverpool is back this weekend and transforming Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage waterfront into a wine lover’s paradise.

It doesn't get much bigger for football than this weekend in Liverpool. Liverpool FC will be taking on Tottenham FC in the Champions League Final in Madrid on June 1st and if you aren't able to go to Spain then Liverpool is the place to watch it. The city will be a sea of red and the atmosphere will be electric so make sure you grab your seat somewhere to catch all the action.

If Jurgen Klopp and the team triumph in the Champions League Final on Saturday then plans have been put in place for a victory parade around the city. The parade would start at 4pm on Sunday and would see the Liverpool FC team parade their trophy on an open top bus through the city and along Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront.
