For a lot of people, Christmas isn't complete without a trip to the pantomime and this year Liverpool has plenty you can head to for kicking off the festive celebrations.  

From Peter Pan, Jack & The Beanstalk to Elf: A Christmas Spectacular, the whole family can get involved with the ‘They’re behind you!’ and ‘Oh no you didn't!’ classic chants whilst getting in the mood for the festive season.

So, pick your favourite one and get everyone ready for a night at the theatre. 


PETER PAN AT LIVERPOOL EMPIRE

This Christmas join the high-flying hero, Peter Pan, as he transports the Darling family on an adventure they will never forget! Packed full of evil pirates, Lost Boys, a hungry crocodile and the dreadful Captain Hook, the kids will love this pantomime tradition. 


SNOW WHITE AT THE M&S BANK ARENA

The M&S Bank Arena will play host to Snow White and her seven friends this Christmas as they attempt to defeat the evil Wicked Queen. Union J’s JJ Hamblett will star as The Prince with Ellie Turner playing Snow White. This will be a night out for the whole family to enjoy! 


ROCK ‘N’ ROLL PANTO: SLEEPING BEAUTY AT THE EVERYMAN

Head over to the Everyman Theatre for a Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto like no other to help change the fate of Sleeping Beauty. There will be singing, dancing, rocking and rolling so bring your dancing shoes for a good time. 


CINDERELLA AT THE EPSTEIN THEATRE

You are guaranteed to have a ball this Christmas at the Epstein Theatre as Cinderella takes to the stage for this magical panto. Promising to be a festive extravaganza with enchanted pumpkins, glass slippers, a sparkling fairy-tale carriage and a fairy Godmother to make all your dreams come true, the whole family will love this night out. 


THE SCOUSE SNOW WHITE AT ROYAL COURT THEATRE 

The Royal Court are bringing back their adult only panto this year with The Scouse Snow White. This panto is definitely not for the kids so leave them at home writing their letters to Father Christmas and enjoy a Christmas night out in Liverpool. Expect daft jokes, live music, singing, dancing and a lot of fun.  


ALADDIN AT ST. HELENS THEATRE ROYAL

Strictly Come Dancing star, Robin Windsor is playing Aladdin at St. Helens Theatre Royal this Christmas and it’s set to be an unforgettable show. Join Aladdin as he battles the evil Abanazer and his dastardly plan to rule the world with a very special lamp. 


JACK & THE BEANSTALK AT SOUTHPORT THEATRE

Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum we smell a pretty good pantomime coming up! Head to Southport Theatre for a showing of Jack & The Beanstalk that the whole family will enjoy. This classic tale features an all star cast, lots of audience participation and an all out sing along. It’s the perfect Christmas night out up the magical beanstalk. 


MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET AT THE PLAYHOUSE

Miracle on 34th Street is flying its way into the Playhouse Theatre this Christmas for a festive treat for the whole family. The famous film is a hit with most people over the Christmas season so what better way to spend a night out than seeing it on the stage! There will be plenty of festive magic to get the Christmas ball rolling. 


ELF: A CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR AT M&S BANK ARENA

Everyone’s favourite Christmas elf, Buddy, is rocking up at the M&S Bank Arena this Christmas for a show the entire family will enjoy, whatever the age. This heart-warming story always gets people in the festive spirit so you’d be a cotton-headed ninny muggins to miss out!

The unique production also has three stages, a 30 foot christmas tree the audience gets to decorate, a flying sleigh and amazing CGI scenery, you’ll be singing Christmas songs all the way home. 


We told you there was plenty to pick from, didn’t we? From Christmas classics to new reinventions and adult only shows; the whole family will find something to get them in the festive spirit. It’s the perfect excuse to dig those Christmas jumpers out too…
