Trying to find places to eat when you’re on a vegan diet can be difficult so we have put together a list of some of the best places to go to enjoy all the natural goodness. Whether its a light snack, a junk food indulgence or a good old English breakfast, we’ve found something for everyone. 

Naughty vegan junk food


Down The Hatch on Duke Street is a favourite amongst local vegans and vegetarians as they take classic junk food like burgers, hotdogs and loaded fries and give them a vegan twist. With a menu that is 80% vegan, allowing for a few halloumi fries, there is no meat in sight in this basement restaurant but the biggest meat eaters around have been known to enjoy one of their famous Seiten Burgers with no fuss. Its junk food with a little less guilt!  

100% vegan coffee shop


Find Potts Coffee, Liverpool’s first fully vegan coffee shop on Slater Street right in the heart of the city centre. Potts Coffee have ethics, sustainability and community at the heart of what they do and provide amazing coffee and breakfast, brunch and lunch menus! It’s the perfect place for a pit stop while you’re out exploring the city. 

Beers and burgers


Brewdog not only has a huge selection of delicious beers on tap and in the fridge but they also offer a pretty special vegan menu too. From southern fried seitan, bbq seitan steak, buffalo cauliflower burger to beyond meat burgers you’ll be able to indulge in something here. They also have a special Monday offer with 2-4-1 on all vegan and veggie mains! 

Plant based Chinese takeaway


Find Woo Tan Scran, an entirely vegan Chinese takeaway on the bustling Lark Lane. Dig into all your favourite Chinese dishes but with a plant based twist!

Vegan classic home made dishes


As one of the first establishments dedicated to vegetarian and vegan food in Liverpool, The Egg Cafe offers a classic home made menu of soups, salads, burgers and cakes in a laid back bohemian style loft in a listed building off Bold Street. On a Sunday they even offer a full vegan roast dinner, sign us up!

Vibrant Indian Street Food


Inspired by the vibrant and varied street foods of India, Bundobust on Bold Street is the perfect place to try a multitude of vegan and veggie indian dishes with a modern twist. You can pick you own items off the menu you could go right in there and order the banquet to sample everything on the menu. 

Fresh local carbon neutral dining 


Green Fork is Chef Sean Paul Redding's plant-based restaurant at 52 Rose Lane. Open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, Chef Sean makes everything freshly himself, using the best regional produce for truly brilliant flavour combinations – our recent favourites are the bang bang ‘chicken’, Tex-Mex mac ’n’ cheese and cauliflower pakora.

Each bill comes with an optional donation to go towards off-setting carbon, making all meals carbon neutral. 

A totally vegan traditional pub


The traditional pub on Caledonia Street in Liverpool’s city centre turned fully vegan in 2017. Not only content with serving a vegan menu consisting of burgers, hot dogs, “wings”, breakfast and sweet treats, the pub also offers a large range of vegan alcohol making it a perfect place for a catch up with friends. As an extra bonus, its dog friendly too!

Vegan Indian street food


A huge success in Liverpool, the Indian street food restaurant, Mowgli has taken the local curry scene by storm with not one but two venues in the city. With their flagship store residing on Bold Street and a larger venue on Water Street by Liverpool’s Town Hall, they offer a vegan menu featuring some of the restaurant’s classic street food and tiffin boxes. The Holy Chow and Mowgli Chip Butty are a must for any visiting vegan. 

More vegan Indian delights 


Another brilliant hidden basement gem, you can find vegan and vegetarian Indian restaurant Sanskruti on Bixteth Street in the Business District of Liverpool. Serving authentic cuisine from every corner of India, including street food, curries and naan bread big enough to feed a small town, Sanskruti is a firm choice for a traditional vegan Indian banquet. 

New York inspired vegan dining


This New York style diner caters for everyone but the vegan options looks incredible. From the vegan tray full of vegan fried chicken, corn ribs, onion petals and loads more to the vegan burger in a beetroot bun, you’ll be coming back to Slim's for more. 

Vegan punk afternoon tea


The Baltic Social is based in the heart of Liverpool’s creative corner, The Baltic Triangle and brings together all things music, food and drink with a wide range of vegan options to boot. They are famous for their Afternoon Punk Tea and have a vegan version so you don't miss out on their twist of the traditional tea and scones. With vegan nachos, sausage rolls and brownies on the menu, you’ll never go back to cucumber sandwiches again. 

Food and art in one


The Garden can be found on the ground floor of FACT, one of Liverpool’s biggest art spaces and is the little sister of tea shop, Leaf on Bold Street. Surrounded by technology inspired art work, The Garden has a wide range of vegan options on their menus, from sandwiches, soups, salads and cakes to fill you up for your fascinating art trip.

A delightful vegan breakfast menu


Love Thy Neighbour can be found at Hatton Garden in Liverpool’s city centre and is a treat for the eyes and the taste buds. Offering a range of vegan options on their menu from a full English breakfast, buddha bowls, smoothie bowls and snacks you’ll be spoilt for choice. 

Plant based roast dinner


Head to Duke Street Market to sample Indigo Greens’ 100% plant based full english and roast dinner. The food hall style establishment is another jewel on the Liverpool food scene you must visit! 

Vegan burgers to go


YouTube star Monami Frost has opened this vegan lovers paradise on Wood Street, Liverpool. The restaurant specialises in 100% plant based junk food such as burgers, desserts and shakes, which btw, taste as good as they look!

All the small plates you could ask for


Maray on Bold Street is a brilliant place to go when your party is a mix of vegan and meat eaters. Their separate vegan menu offers a range of small plates to die for inspired by middle-eastern flavours - their roasted cauliflower dish always goes down well!
