We know Liverpool is super dog friendly but what about our furry felines?

Yes, what about cat friendly Liverpool? With the likes of Nala, Smoothie, White Coffee and Grumpy Cat (God rest her soul) taking the Instagram world by storm; is it time for cats to relieve the hounds from their role as ‘man’s best friend?’

If your cat is your best friend, you’ll know that you don’t want to leave him or her at home; they’d miss out on all the fun… and potentially ruin your carpet.

We decided to chat to Liverpool’s cutest ginger boy, Eli the Adventure Cat. He is going to give us the low-down on where tickles his whiskers and the best cat friendly places in Liverpool.

If you want to explore Liverpool with your cat taking in all the food and drink, the outdoors and culture then take a meow-ment to read this blog from Eli!

Where are your favorite places to eat and drink in Liverpool?

There are so many! I have two favourites that I regularly visit. I love going to Brewdog because there is lots of space for me to explore and the staff love cats (and dogs) there! If I’m not in Brewdog, you’ll find me in Fredericks on Hope Street! They have a really cool atmosphere there and I always get lots of cuddles from the staff.

Our most recent favourite is Hafla Hafla on Lark Lane. Cats are only allowed at the front of the restaurant but I love that as I can sit by the window and watch the world go by outside!

Whenever I get the train home for the weekend, I love visiting Sanctuary Bar on Lime Street. It is so cosy inside and the staff are so friendly. My mum also works in Black Rabbit Shot Bar and I love going with her when she picks up her wages! The disco light makes cool patterns on the floor which are great fun to chase!

I’m looking forward to finding new places to go for lunch with my mum. We look for places that are dog friendly and always ask beforehand if cats are welcome too. Normally they are but we have to be aware there might be dogs inside as well - it’s a good job I love dogs!

Where are your favourite places to explore the outdoors in Liverpool?

We love going to Sefton Park as there are lots of trees for me to climb and large outdoor spaces. I particularly like walking around the lake and watching the birds on the water. If I’m lucky I can see some of the bigger fish in the warm weather - mum has to stop me from jumping in!

I also had a great time when I went to Otterspool. We walked around the woods and alongside the Mersey. It’s very scenic in the afternoon - I like watching the sunset! If my mum gets an ice cream from the ice cream van, I always steal a few cheeky licks!

The Royal Albert Dock is great to explore as there is so much to see. I like to walk along with my mum and then find a nice restaurant for lunch.

Is there anywhere in Liverpool that you go to meet up with feline friends?

I haven’t yet met any other cats whilst I’ve been out on my adventures but I know that there are a few of my fellow felines that like to visit Brewdog as well. I can’t wait to meet some more fellow adventure cats as I LOVE making friends!

Where’s your favourite place to pick up kitty treats?

I love going to Pets at Home with my mum to get my food and treats. The staff are always very friendly and say hi to me! I also love their cat section - they have ‘pick a mix’ of toys which I get to choose from.

I have so much fun watching the fishies and I made friends with the little rabbits last time I went!
