As lockdown measures ease and our much loved Liverpool restaurants start to open again it means we can begin to safely explore our favourite places to eat!
Liverpool is pretty much a foodies dream. We have restaurants to suit everyone's tastes and favourite cuisines for every mood and occasion. So, whether you’re looking for breakfast, brunch, lunch, a light snack or an evening meal there will be a place just right for you!
To help you plan your next trip to Liverpool we have put together a guide to some of Liverpool’s favourite restaurants, all listed by area so you know exactly where to head.
As each venue is different, they will all have their own government approved social distancing guidelines, booking systems and opening times so we would recommend planning ahead and visiting their website before your trip for more information. We will also regularly update the list as more restaurants begin to open.

LIVERPOOL ONE
LUNYA

THE ROYAL ALBERT DOCK
LERPWL
The Barrie Bros, Ellis and Liam Barrie, are opening their new restaurant Lerpwl at The Royal Albert Dock on 12th September! Originally from Liverpool, the brothers are taking inspiration from the British Isles using seasonal ingredients to create their incredible menu. It will also feature a cocktail bar and an oyster bar making it the perfect place to visit on a trip to the Royal Albert Dock.
MADRE
This Mexican taqueria will light up your lunch time with mouthwatering tacos, traditional mexican dishes inspired by the food culture of Mexico City, margaritas and craft beers with an impressive soundtrack to boot. Sit outside in the courtyard or enjoy the vibes inside on your next trip.
ROUGH HAND MADE
Handmade pastries, pittas and breads await you at Rough Hand Made. Their handmade bakes are infused with a sunny South American influence and will make for a delicious treat any time of day on the Royal Albert Dock.
LUNYALITA
Sister venue to Lunya, Lunyalita boasts the same amazing menu as its counterpart but with the addition of incredible views over the Royal Albert Dock. Book yourself a table to enjoy the taste of Spain on our very own waterfront.
GUSTO
Fresh Italian-inspired food, an exotic cocktail menu, beautiful views over the Dock, it can only be Gusto. Book a table for a night of delicious pizza, pasta, seafood and meats at this Italian eatery.
SMUGGLER’S COVE
Dine in this Pirates paradies at the Royal Albert Dock on your next visit into Liverpool. Boasting a selection of 141 rums, 80 beers, an extensive wine list, unique cocktails and incredible food menu you’ll have an amazing experience down at Smuggler’s Cove.
THE PIE PORT
The Pie Port has sailed into the Royal Albert Dock with a mighty reputation in tow. From the much loved Liverpool favourite bakery, Satterthwaits, these pies will be some of the best around you’ve tried. The perfect treat after a post-dock stroll.

Over the last few months Maray have added some al fresco additions to their Royal Albert Dock location. You can now enjoy their amazing small plates inspired by flavours from around the world in their outdoor, socially distanced seating area. Book a table now to enjoy beautiful food and views!

VIVA BRAZIL
Viva Brazil is an award-winning authentic Brazilian steakhouse with a unique dining experience. Offering 14 different cuts of meat all cooked to perfection, you won’t be disappointed with an evening meal here.
BACARO
This Italian small plate eatery is perfect for lunch or an evening meal after exploring Liverpool. You’ll find everything from pizzettes, meat & fish dishes, salads and charcuterie on the menu alongside a bellini bar!
SAN CARLO
For more incredible Italian dishes then have a look at the menu at San Carlo. Their Summer menu is full of fresh pasta, meats, pizzas, steaks and fish dishes for you to try.

Classic Italian pizza dough with classic Italian toppings - you can’t really go wrong at Rudy’s!
GINO D’ACAMPO
For that cool Neapolitan vibe in the heart of Liverpool then head over to Gino D’Acampo’s for some classic Italian dishes. There are plenty of treats to enjoy for every occasion and they even have a prosecco bar!
CASA ITALIA
Casa Italia is just down the road from Castle Street but we couldn’t leave it out! It’s the perfect place for authentic pasta dishes and incredible pizza in a traditional Italian setting. Even Paul McCartney has been here...
FAZENDA
The team at Fazenda are still working hard behind the scene to make sure they can safely open soon but when they do make sure you pop over for a visit to try their incredible Brazilian dishes for a unique dining experience.
SIX BY NICO
Six By Nico is just a stone's throw away from Castle Street and worth the few steps to their front door. The six course tasting menu is a treat for all the senses offering unique tastes and flavours. The menu is set around a theme that changes every six weeks meaning there is all the more reason to return. Their reopening menu will be the Chippie 2.0 so it's the perfect time to catch it if you missed it the first time round.
BOLD STREET
BUNDOBUST
For beautifully fresh Indian inspired street food then Bundobust on Bold Street is the place to head for lunch, an afternoon snack or an evening with your friends. Check out the okra fries, Bundo chat, paneer tikka and the famous vada pav (a deep fried mashed potato ball in a bun!) on your visit.
CRUST
You can’t go wrong with pizza, especially when it’s from Crust. The award-winning pizzeria serves up the finest wood-fired pizzas with all your favourite toppings on a variety of dough bases. They won't need to remind you to eat your crust here, they are that good.
SLIM’S
Slim’s on Bold Street will be reopening in the first week of August so you can dive back into their amazing menu once again. You’ll be able to enjoy their beautiful burgers, indulgent sandwiches and American inspired mains with a craft beer or two.
MAGGIE MAY’S
On a chilly afternoon you can’t go wrong with a bowl of Scouse and Maggie May’s does a pretty good one. Served with some crusty bread and pickled beetroot or cabbage, we’re very proud of our local dish. The quaint cafe have adapted their venue to meet social distancing guidelines and even have new seating outdoors as part of the Liverpool Without Walls project.
MOWGLI
Mowgli is all about authentic Indian street food full of fresh, bright, intense flavour and trust us, it's amazing. Try one of their tiffin boxes for a bit of food roulette, or pick from the menu filled with incredible dishes. Whatever you do make sure you get a few Yoghurt Chat Bombs too!
LEAF
If you’re a fan of tea, good food and the odd gin then LEAF on Bold Street is the perfect place for you. They are currently running a reduced menu to help keep to social distancing measures but they are still offering everything from English breakfasts, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers and their beautiful main courses too!
KASBAH
For an authentic taste of Morocco head to Kasbah to try their culinary delights. From Tagines to grilled meats, mezze, salads and sandwiches there’s plenty to pick from.
ROPEWALKS
CRAZY PEDROS
For a slice of pizza and an ice cold drink on a roof terrace in the Ropewalks area of the city, then Crazy Pedro’s is the place to go. Like their name, their pizzas have pretty crazy toppings and they serve by the slice too so you can try a few!
ALBERT'S SCHENKE
Albert’s Schenke Bier Halle & Cook Haus is inspired by trips to Alpine Germany, Italy, Austria, France & Switzerland. Serving everything from schweinshaxe to chicken schnitzel, it’s Liverpool's very own Alpine retreat.

WOLF AND WAFFLE
If you're a fan of waffles then Wolf and Waffle on Berry Street is the place to go. Serving up everything from sweet waffles to all your favourite savory toppings, it's perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner!
PATTERSONS
Home to chicken, tunes, cocktails and beers, Patterson’s is a must if you’re into fried chicken. Their famous fried chicken is coated in their special mix of herbs and spices so good you’ll be back for more. They’ve even got some new dishes on their menu to try now they are back open.
ALMOST FAMOUS
Almost Famous is definitely famous in Liverpool, their bugers are talked about across the city. They are currently running a stripped back menu to keep in line with health and safety measures but they have kept all the favourites on there for you to try.
DOWN THE HATCH
Down the Hatch is a dream for vegans and vegetarians. The plant based junk food establishment offers everything from dirty burgers to loaded fries and plenty of indulgent sides too. They aren’t opening their doors until August but make sure you book a table for when they do.
THE MONRO
The Monro is considered one of the best places to go in the city for a Sunday roast, you can’t go wrong! The rest of their gastro-pub themed menu is also amazing so book a table once they have reopened so you don’t miss out.
AMALIA
This award winning Italian eatery is pretty famous for their incredible pizza! Their whole menu is amazing though so make sure you book a table to try out their pizza and pasta dishes.
DUKE STREET MARKET
Duke Street Market is one of the city’s much loved street food markets. With six different kitchens offering a whole host of cuisines from around the world there is something for everyone. They have made plenty of changes to the market too to meet with social distancing guidelines to make it an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone.
THE GEORGIAN QUARTER
THE ART SCHOOL
Renowned chef Paul Askew opened up The Art School in 2014 and since then it has become a bit of an institution in Liverpool. Their menus offer everything you could ask for in fine dining, with beautiful food and second to none service. Book your table now for this unique experience.
There is also the Art School Cellars which is home to the new Food and Drink Emporium where you can buy a range of ingredients they use in the restaurant to take home.
ROSKI
Roski on Rodney Street is home to eclectic British cooking from Masterchef: The Professionals winner Anton Piotrowski. Known for their sample menus, expect big flavours and the freshest of seasonal ingredients. Open from the 16th July make sure you book a table in advance.
THE LONDON CARRIAGE WORKS
London Carriage Works is an award winning restaurant at the Hope Street Hotel serves modern British Dishes using local fresh and seasonal produce. It’s the perfect place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an evening meal.
THE FLORIST
The Florist will be opening their doors to a floral wonderland from the 20th July. Their botanical inspired drinks menu goes perfectly with their delicious dishes including their famous hanging kebabs.
THE QUARTER
For breakfast, brunch or lunch with a view of Liverpool’s beautiful Georgian Quarter then the Quarter is a must. Serving up full english breakfasts, pancakes, pizza, pastas and an impressive wine menu, it’s the perfect place to chill out.
BALTIC TRIANGLE
LU BAN
Lu Ban offers beautifully presented authentic Chinese small plates inspired by the region of Tianjin. Pair your dishes with wine or other drinks from their excellent collection and enjoy a night out in the Baltic Triangle.
THE BALTIC SOCIAL
When the Baltic Social open their doors again we would recommend booking a table for their punk afternoon tea, you won’t have had anything like it before. With the likes of chip shop scotch eggs, mini ruben grilled cheese, salt & pepper halloumi spring rolls and buttermilk chicken waffles on the menu it’s definitely an afternoon tea to treat yourself to.
THE BALTIC MARKET
The Baltic Market was Liverpool’s first street food market and quickly became a top spot to visit for something to eat in the city. The warehouse turned market has stalls that house ever changing independent food vendors serving up everything from pizza, halloumi fries, caribbean curries, vegan junk food and even a dessert bar.
