In honour of Paul McCartney, The Beatles Story will be raising funds and awareness for Nordoff Robbins, a charity supported by Macca himself. 

Nordoff Robins stand for music and believe in the value of music for all people in our society. Their vision is to live in a world where, through music therapy, human potential is recognised regardless of profound disability, illness or social exclusion. Supporting thousands of people in centres around the UK, the charity works in partnership with a wide range of organisations including care homes, schools and hospitals.

To celebrate Paul’s birthday, the Liverpool Beatles Museum have added a special piece to their collection for you to see. Head over to see Paul McCartney’s setlist from when he played The Cavern Club 1999.

Whilst you’re there you can also explore four floors of Beatles memorabilia from across the years - perfect for any Beatles fan.

‘Pure McCartney’ at The Cavern Club - 19 June

Tony Coburn’s acclaimed ‘Pure McCartney’ pays tribute to the legend that is Paul McCartney on his 80th birthday weekend.

Performing on the same stage that played home to Macca in 1999 and 2018, expect Beatles and Wings classics from this fabulous band including Live and Let Die, Get Back and of course Birthday. Sure to be a true ‘Party for Paul’.

Cavern Club at The Cavern - 17 & 18 June

What better way to bring in the weekend than with The Cavern Club Beatles?

Their resident Beatles tribute band will be raising the roof on at the cellar club with their energetic and musically brilliant show dedicated to John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Covering all Fab Four eras from The Cavern to The Rooftop, this show has it all.

LIPA Sixth form showcase - 14 & 15 June

Kicking off a week of Macca Mayhem are young music students from Paul McCartney’s ‘fame school’. LIPA Sixth form students will be showcasing their amazing talent on the Cavern Live Lounge stage.

Following in the footsteps of their Lead Patron Paul, these talented rising stars will be entertaining a Cavern audience as they hone their craft in the music industry. Don’t miss out seeing these stars of the future in the place where it all began for The Fab Four.

Go ‘Veggie’ at The Cavern Restaurant

In honour of Paul and Linda McCartney, the chefs at The Cavern Club Restaurant are serving up some extra special vegetarian dishes all weekend. Have a look at their menu here. 


To mark the big occasion Strawberry Field will be going ‘veggie’ for the day in hour of Paul so if your visiting for the day have a look at their special menu. 

Whilst you’re there you can also see their brand new exhibition ‘Lennon Wired’ featuring special pieces of artwork designed around the wires John Lennon used to record ‘Imagine’.

Jump on board a special ‘Macca Mystery Tour’ to celebrate Paul’s birthday with Magical Mystery Tour. The 3 hour sightseeing tour focuses on all things Macca, visiting places that were influential and instrumental in the early life of Paul. From Penny Lane to Woolton Village Church Hall (where Paul met John for the first time) and a special stop at Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts (LIPA). LIPA is famed for producing excellence in the world of performing arts and, of course, having Sir Paul as its lead patron. 

Finish off at the world famous Cavern Club where live music will be performed for your entertainment. A knowledgeable tour guide will educate and entertain you as you journey round the history and stories behind the life of Paul.

The British Music Experience will be marking Paul’s birthday with a special McCartney playlist in their venue and a McCartney quiz. Each visitor will be given a quiz sheet to fill out on their visit and each one competed will be given a piece of Paul’s birthday cake (whilst stocks last).

At 20 Forthlin Road, Paul McCartney’s childhood home, winners from ‘The Forthlin Sessions’ hosted by The National Trust, will be live streaming performances from McCartney’s front room. The unsigned artists from around the country include, Serena Ittoo, HUMM, Emily Theodora and Dullan.
