ENJOY AL FRESCO DINING ON CASTLE STREET
What was once one of the original seven ancient streets of Liverpool, Castle Street is now a foodie's dream! The bars and restaurants that line the street are a sun trap in the summer months and perfect for dining al fresco. If you’re heading along, make sure to check out some of these venues for an afternoon or evening treat.
RIVA BLU
On the corner of Castle Street Riva Blu is an Italian restaurant and bar boasting an open kitchen, cocktail bar and a large alfresco terrace so you can dine out in the open air with a cocktail in hand.
BACARO
For Italian small plates and wine served under the sun, it doesn’t get much better than Bacaro.
BOUCHON
For the ultimate Parisian experience in Liverpool, Bouchon is the place to go. Pull up a chair in their sunny terrace and relax with a cold drink, beautiful food and modern French dishes.
BOBO
Celebrate Portuguese and Spanish wine culture at Bobo. Pop in for a coffee, chat for hours with a bottle of wine or indulge in a cocktail whilst taking in all the sights and sounds of Castle Street. If you’re looking for something a little special for the weekend too, their bottomless brunch is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
POINT BLANK SHOOTING
For something a little different for your next night out, why not try Point Blank Shooting? Inside they have competitive simulation shooting ranges whilst outside you can enjoy their bespoke cocktails and frost steins out under the sun.
RUDY'S PIZZA
You can’t go wrong with Pizza and Rudy’s traditional Neapolitan pizza is a must try. Served up fresh with all your favourite toppings, pick your slice and enjoy out in the sunshine.
LIVERPOOL GIN DISTILLERY
You can’t visit Castle Street without taking a trip to Liverpool Gin Distillery. Sample their wide selection of gins or even turn your hand to making your own - if you’re a gin fan, this is the place for you.
DISCOVER BOLD STREET'S HIDDEN GEMS
Bold Street is one of the most popular places to head for something to eat and drink in Liverpool. The long street is full of independent bars and restaurants with menus from all round the world so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
JIMMY'S
For good beer, good music, good food and good times head over to Jimmy’s at the top of Bold Street. They have an outdoor seating area so you can enjoy a drink with the best view of Bold Street and St Luke’s Church.
LEAF
Leaf is very popular on Bold Street and is one of the best spots for an al fresco drink out in the sun. With a range of speciality tea, cocktails and amazing food, you can’t go wrong.
BOLD STREET COFFEE
If you’re in need of a little pick-me-up then Bold Street Coffee can sort you out. Grab a coffee to go or sit outside and watch the world go by.
BE SPOILT FOR CHOICE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT DOCK
You could spend a whole day exploring the famous Royal Albert Dock any time of year but it especially comes alive in the summer. Alongside all the museums, galleries and watersport activities, there is also a huge range of bars and restaurants too.
MADRE
Enjoy authentic tacos, quesadillas and margaritas at this modern Mexican taqueria, Madre. Their outside terrace is huge and is the perfect place to soak up the sun all week long.
ONE O'CLOCK GUN
From the team behind Maray, One O’Clock Gun is the perfect pub to soak up all the sun and relaxing atmosphere of the Royal Albert Dock in. Alongside their imaginative cocktail list, draught beers, and wine on tap they have a selection of simple honest food like pie, cheese boards and amazing grilled cheese sandwiches!
CHEERS TO THE WEEKEND AT OH ME OH MY
The backdrop doesn’t get much better than at The Goodness Gracious rooftop garden at Oh Me Oh My. Overlooking the Royal Liver Building, grab your mates and a cocktail for the ultimate photoshoot with one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings.
They also have a beautiful afternoon tea that you can enjoy al fresco over the summer too!
DINE OUT WITH A LIVER BUILDING BACKDROP AT MATOU
We don’t have one, but two amazing restaurants overlooking the Royal Liver Building. Head over to Pier Head for food and drink at Matou. The Pan Asian Restaurant has a beautiful terrace perfect for those sunny evenings.
DISCOVER A NEW ROOFTOP BAR AT ZENN
Zenn, a brand new bar on Victoria Street has opened with a rooftop bar perfect for catching the sun. With a whole host of menus including a BBQ rooftop menu and a huge selection of drinks, pull up a seat and relax this summer.
