THINGS TO DO

ELFIE STATION AT ST JOHNS SHOPPING CENTRE

This December, you can find Santa’s Chief Nice List Checkers at St Johns Shopping Centre between 12-4pm every weekend. Snap a selfie with an elfie and add your name to the nice list - they’ll be checking twice!

Head over each weekend from the 26th November for this free event

VISIT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET

What could be more Christmassy than visiting our Christmas Markets around St George's Hall? Filled with the sights, sounds and smells of the festive season, take the whole family down to sample the tasty food, grab something to eat and get the ultimate Christmas selfie.

The Christmas Market is open from 19 November 24 December.

EXPLORE LIVERPOOL ONE’S WINTER WONDERLAND

Visit the magical alpine wonderland taking over Chavasse Park at Liverpool ONE for karaoke, curling, shuffleboard, prosecco pong, wreath making, food and drink stalls and festive family events.

You can even take the kids to meet Santa at John Lewis who have teamed up with Lego ® for a wonderful Christmas experience.

SEE A CHRISTMAS SHOW

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year when it comes to a family night out at the theatre and you can’t go wrong with a classic panto!

Theatres across the city are showcasing the best festive cheer so don’t miss out on Elf: A Christmas Arena Spectacular, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto Red Riding Hood at the Everyman Theatre or Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Epstein theatre.

WALK AROUND ALL THE LIGHTS

If there’s something we can all agree on, it’s family days out that don’t break the bank. Well this year, Liverpool’s got your back.

Make cherished memories by following Christmas lights trails throughout the city. Spot the giant reindeers at Liverpool ONE, walk through the Christmas Tree at Williamson Square and marvel at the glittering lights at the Royal Albert Dock.

VISIT A MUSEUM FOR FREE

Experience free, amazing museums (Christmas craft making for all of the family is free at the famous Walker Art Gallery throughout December) or contemporary art at Tate Liverpool at the Royal Albert Dock where you can also catch the Turner Prize.

HEAD FOR SOMETHING TO EAT

Treat the family to a feast at one of Bold Street or Castle Street’s famous restaurants. Taste Instagram-ready dishes at one of the many independents and stunning lighting in the city’s boho heart.

If you’re heading to Bold Street have a look at Pizza Punks for design-your-own pizza, Fat Hippo for mouth-watering burgers, or LEAF for a warm drink to rest your legs.

Visit Castle Street for Rudy’s Pizza, So Salsa or the ever popular Mowgli - the kids will love all of these!

GETTING AROUND LIVERPOOL

Jump on the Merseyrail

Getting around a city with kids can be a bit stressful but the best thing about coming to Liverpool is that it’s such a walkable city and most attractions are a reasonable walking distance. However if you want to give your legs a bit of a rest you can jump on the Merseyrail Loop line that stops off at three different stations in the city centre and plenty more further afield. Have a look at the range of tickets on offer here.
