Hot chocolate at Alma De Cuba

Christmas Food and Drink

Where else could you eat around the world in one city, than in Liverpool?

Our culinary offering is second to none and whatever your palate, you’ll find a restaurant to suit your tastes. Cote Bistro is where you’ll get the sophisticated French charm, while Bill’s can provide that comforting Great British flavour.

Gusto offers hearty Italian in a world famous setting of the Albert Dock, or you can dine on set at Fazenda, a Brazilian rodizio located in the business district where Peaky Blinders and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them were filmed.

Any ladies who love to lunch will have no problem finding a great spot for catching up over a bite. Small plates are ideal for trying a bit of everything without feeling too full during the day, and there are so many to recommend - Maray on Bold Street offers an eclectic menu inspired from around the globe, with some inspiring reworks of classic.

Salt House Bacaro (found on Castle Street) provides Venetian small plates in a simple way that focuses on a big flavour. The charcuterie boards are a highlight. And of course, when it comes to small plates, tapas still reigns supreme. Lunya on Hanover Street is a well-established, family-owned independent, paying homage to Catalunya and Spain.

For small plates, street food style, Mowgli ticks all the boxes and delivers a truly unrivalled Indian experience. Served in traditional tiffins, Mowgli’s dishes echo the healthy ethos of real Indian food and have fresh flavours that are much-welcomed for a warming lunch.

To make your trip extra special, why not book in for afternoon tea? You’ll love 60 Hope Street, where the doorway is often adorned with stunning archways made of flowers. (Don’t forget to take a photo!) Not to mention it’s located in the beautiful Georgian Quarter, just a short walk from the city centre. Or if you want the real “high” tea experience, try Panoramic 34, one of the UK’s highest restaurants overlooking our magnificent waterfront.

If you’re still not convinced, take the Sunday Times’ word for it - we’re also proudly home to The Art School, which made the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants list of 2017 for its exceptionable quality of fine dining. Not to mention it features in the Michelin Guide 2018, citing its offering as “a bewildering array of colourful modern dishes”.
