Accessibility Guide - Visiting Liverpool

The aim of this guide is to make your visit to Liverpool as easy and accessible as possible, ensuring that the entirety of the customer journey and various touchpoints on that journey are accessible for as many people as possible.

Travelling to Liverpool

Travelling to Liverpool is accessible and straightforward, with direct train routes to Liverpool Lime Street and a diverse mix of destinations coming directly into Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Additionally, Liverpool City Region is well-connected to the UK motorway network, with various motorways leading you directly into the City Centre.

Liverpool prides itself on its vast choice of accommodation – from luxury big brands to independent hotels and quirky BnB’s – you can rest easy when you come to this city. And the majority of the accommodation in Liverpool and the city region provide great accessibility features. Revitalise Sandpipers Hotel

In addition to the above there are various hotels in the city region which equally provide excellent accessibility features. Just one example is Revitalise Sandpipers. This unique property offers full board accommodation on the shores of Southport Marine Lake. All rooms are fully accessible and have en-suite facilities with wheel-in showers. What to do in Liverpool

Liverpool city centre is often referred to in 'quarters' - and yes there's more than four. Getting to know the neighbourhood quarters is a fab way to plan your day based on location. Shop Mobility 

Modern and easy to use equipment to hire including manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and electric scooters. As well as this we also have a range of disability aids and adaptations to purchase including walking sticks and RADAR keys.

Shopmobility also offers a range of additional support services including

  • Opportunity to hire equipment for holidays/day excursions
  • Information about local amenities, shops, disability issues and useful contact
  • Travel companion (subject to availability)
  • Drop off/ pick up service from local hotels (subject to staff availability)

Shopmobility is not restricted to people who are registered disabled meaning any individual who has a mobility restriction due to age, disability or injury can use the service. Their friendly team will provide training and support around operating the scooters and wheelchairs.
