Lark Lane

A pretty lane of pastel shop fronts, cafes, bars and restaurants in South Liverpool

Outside Liverpool City Centre

Liverpool is much more than Liverpool City Centre and is well connected to surrounding towns, villages and boroughs.

Not far from the city centre and close by to Sefton Park is Lark Lane. It is a pretty street lined with Victorian buildings, posing as pastel coloured shop fronts, cafes, bars and restaurants. There's a farmers market that sells everything from giant tasty olives to handmade jewellery that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month
.

Penny Lane, the place made famous by the Fab Four is a short journey from the city centre and is a popular selfie spot for fans of the Fab Four. It's just off Smithdown/Allerton Road, both which are home to several bars and restaurants.

Allerton Road in Allerton is a popular place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with a growing selection of independent restaurants at home on the street. Nearby is 126 acre Calderstones Park. The park famous for housing the Allerton Oak tree and six neolithic sandstone boulders remaining rom a dolmen. Just off Allerton Road on Garthdale Road. visitors can explore the farmers market on the third Saturday of every month.

Menlove Avenue in the South of Liverpool is another area popular with fans of the Fab Four. Number 251 of Menlove Avenue is the childhood home of Beatles' John Lennon. Tours of both John Lennon and nearby Paul McCartney's childhood home can be booked with the National Trust or viewed on the Magical Mystery Tour.

The South of Liverpool has some stunning green spaces including Sefton Park, Croxteth Park, Greenbank Park and Calderstones Park. But it isn't just the South of Liverpool with green spaces. In the North of Liverpool, between the grounds of Liverpool and Everton Football Club is Stanley Park.

Staying in the North, Croxteth Hall and Country Park is well worth a visit; one of Liverpool's most important heritage sites boasting a Victorian Walled Garden set in over 500 acres of historic parkland.
