The Cavern Pub, opposite the Cavern Club in Mathew Street, features an exterior wall with the names of all the artists who have played at the Cavern Club since it opened in 1957. You won’t be surprised to see the names of the Fab Four but there are many others such as Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, The Who, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Jimi Hendrix who played at the club in the 1960s and 70s. More recent additions include Adele, Jessie J, Jake Bugg and Arctic Monkeys.
The newly remodelled Cavern Pub is full of history and amazing memorabilia from past performances at the Cavern.
Live music is on offer weekday evenings and all day Saturday & Sunday. The Cavern Pub is open 7 days a week with free entry at all times.
Exit the M53 at jct 1, follow signs for Liverpool City Centre. From M62 exit jct 4 onto, Edge Lane, head for City Centre, Dale Street or Albert Dock. Paradise Street car park: Head for Albert Dock, stay in left hand lane and follow signs for Paradise Street car park. Exit by foot from back of car park, turn right into North John Street, Mathew Street is on your right.
From Lime Street Station:Exit via the main entrance, cross over the lights and head towards Queens Square Bus Station. Follow the Bus Station around until you meet Yate's pub, then turn left onto Whitechapel. Follow this road until you see Stanley Street - turn right onto it and then Mathew Street is the first left.From James Street Station:Exit via the main entrance, turn left past the Victoria Monument and onto Lord Street towards the main shopping area. Turn left onto North John Street and Mathew Street is the second street on the right.
