About
One of Southport's most celebrated sights is Lord Street, a Victorian canopied boulevard edged in scenic gardens. With a charming, unique style all of its own, Lord Street has been a favourite shopping destination for over a century.Speciality shops and designer boutiques are just a stones throw from the street’s picturesque and leafy gardens - the ideal place to unwind whilst still in the hub of the town. Right at Lord Street’s heart is Wayfarers Shopping Arcade, open since 1898. This Grade II listed building boasts a stunning glass-domed roof, impressive period décor and a range of over 30 exclusive stores. Their café and restaurant offer the perfect setting to soak up the Arcade’s atmosphere.
The Royal Arcade at the south end of Lord Street is the ideal place to continue the nostalgia. Brimming with antiques and collectables, bargain hunters can while away the hours seeking out extraordinary wares.
After shopping and exploring you’re sure to be ready for some refreshments. Lord Street is home to a wide selection of tea rooms, coffee shops and restaurants so dine al fresco or relax in a more traditional setting, and enjoy the charm of this unique street.
