In December 2021, Tanni was appointed as chair of the North of Tyne Combined Authorities Inclusive Economy Board. In November 2024, she was announced as lead the Aviation Accessibility Task and Finish Group which aims to ‘break down barriers’ to air travel for disabled passengers.

A key voice in opposing the ‘Assisted Dying’ Bill, which passed Second Reading in The House of Commons with a 55-vote majority in late November 2024.
