Culture and Heritage

Liverpool has more museums and Art galleries than any UK city outside of London and most of them are FREE! One of which, World Museum will be opening its doors to a brand new Egypt gallery, taking you on a 500 year journey to discover what life was really like in ancient Egypt. 

The Walker Art Gallery is a gallery to rival any in Europe, showcasing renaissance masterpieces, Tudor portraits and one of the best collections of Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite art in the world. 

Museum of Liverpool – This modern landmark building on the iconic waterfront is a place where visitors can explore the city’s unique geography, history and culture.

Sci-Fi Icons at Spaceport is a private collection of Stars Wars memorabilia from one of the UK’s biggest collectors. Showing an array of fascinating scenes and iconic characters from the films including Ewok Village, Jedi Knights, Death Star, Storm Trooper, Darth Maul and much more!

Culture in Liverpool

Everybody Razzle Dazzle! Sir Peter Blake designed the Dazzle Ferry back in 2014 based on patterns used on WW1 ships to confuse the enemy. It has been in operation on the Mersey ever since and is the best way to view Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Tate Liverpool presents Portraying a Nation: Germany 1919–1933, the faces of Germany between the two world wars as told through the eyes of painter Otto Dix (1891–1969) and photographer August Sander (1876–1964) - two artists whose works document the radical extremes of the country in this period.

This year The Bluecoat is celebrating a 300 year anniversary in the city centre’s oldest building. As part of the celebrations they’ll be hosting the event Pierre Henry at the Metropolitan Cathedral - a unique collaboration between the French composer and The Bluecoat. 

Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is definitely a safe place to do risky things in Christ’s service and there are always exciting events going on in this unique venue. Additionally, the 331-foot-tall bell tower tour offers one of the best views of Liverpool’s city skyline. 

Located within Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, Albert Dock is the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the UK. It’s home to inspiring museums and galleries, fun family attractions and a selection of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Cavern Club, British Music Experience and Beatles Story


The British Music Experience is the newest addition to Liverpool's colourful music offering, located in the first-class passenger lounge of the iconic Cunard Building. This is a fun-packed interactive journey through popular music from the end of the Second World War to the present day charting musical milestones from the birth of rock and roll to the punk revolution to pop icons.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ album with several new exhibits at the award-winning The Beatles Story. Located in the stunning Albert Dock, The Beatles Story takes visitors on an atmospheric journey through the lives, times, culture and music of The Beatles.

50 years after The Beatles first performed on its stage, the Cavern Club is still one of Liverpool’s top music venues. Today's club has two stages offering a wide variety of live music daily. The iconic stage beneath the brick arches is where visitors can enjoy live music from solo artists and cover bands most afternoons and evenings.

A visit to Liverpool Football Club's ground Anfield, is truly a memorable experience for all! For the ardent red and even those who are non-football followers a visit to LFC is a must when visiting the region. At Liverpool Football Club's interactive museum, The Liverpool FC Story, visitors can discover over 120 years of LFC history and explore football, past and present, with the help of state of the art technology and never-before-seen displays.
